I was born and raised in Princeton, West Virginia, a small town in the Southernmost part of the state. As the daughter, granddaughter and niece of West Virginia University alumni, picking a college to attend was not a difficult choice. I am studying Public Relations with minors in History, Political Science and Appalachian Studies.
I am currently working on an EXCEL project with WVU’s honors college focusing on women in Appalachia. This multimedia project will highlight many different women and their cultural contributions to Appalachia. You can view that project here.
I have previously served as the President and Editor-In-Chief of Her Campus at WVU. I am also a member of WVU’s Collegiate 4-H club where I serve as the fundraising chair. In addition to writing, I also enjoy photography and graphic design. Featured pieces of my work can be found through the tabs on my site.
When I am not in class, I work as a ticketing and publicity intern for WVU Arts and Entertainment. As a ticketing intern, I sell tickets to students and members of the community to the various shows put on at WVU. As a publicity intern, I help to promote the nationally touring shows that perform at WVU.
Additionally, I work as a News Intern for WVU’s University Relations. In this role, I distribute content to WVU’s external audience of media outlets and research publications. Additionally, I curate written pieces to be published in WVUToday.
After finishing my undergraduate degree, I am unsure of what I will pursue next. Ideally, I would like to stay in West Virginia; I have a deep love for my state and I want to give back to it in any way that I can.
